The stay for catfish hunters
Catfish Angler Stay
The Lot, at Aiguillon and its confluence with the Garonne, is one of France's best spots for Wels catfish. Specimens over 2 metres and 80 kg have been caught near our cottage. Whether you practice clonk, vertical jigging or live bait, our location gives you direct access to the most productive holes in the area.
The zone between Aiguillon and the Lot-Garonne confluence is considered one of France's best sectors for Wels catfish. Natural holes ranging from 6 to 12 metres, fed by the Lot's moderate current and the Garonne inflow, concentrate impressive biomass. Experienced anglers who have stayed with us regularly report battles with fish exceeding 1.5 metres, and each season produces its share of catfish over 2 metres.
The Lot and Garonne confluence, a few kilometres downstream, concentrates a remarkable population of Wels catfish. The 6 to 12 metre holes, moderate current and abundance of forage fish create ideal conditions. Our cottage is the perfect starting point to explore this exceptional sector.
