Choosing your bivvy
Sleeping
- 1Bedchair: 6 ft padded camp bed, essential for long sessions. Budget €100–250. It changes everything for comfort.
- 2Sleeping bag: 3–4 season, comfort temperature 0 °C minimum for spring and autumn nights. Carp bite at night, you need to be rested.
- 3Thermal blanket: In addition to the sleeping bag for cold nights. Light and compact.
- 4Inflatable pillow: Detail that makes all the difference for sleep quality. Cheap, easy to carry.
Eating during the session
- 1Gas stove: Compact, 1 burner enough for coffee, tea and quick meals. Essential.
- 2Cooking set and utensils: Complete lightweight kit in aluminium or stainless steel. Plate, cutlery, pan.
- 3Water: 3–4 litres per day per person. Plan generously, dehydration tires you out.
- 4Food: Dehydrated meals, tins, sandwiches, fruit. Do not neglect food, it affects your energy.
- 5Cool box: For fresh produce, bait and cold drinks. A welcome luxury.
